The Smashing Pumpkins kicked off their "The Other Side of the Kaleidyscope" tour last night (10/5) at The Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles. The brief fall outing is something of a practice run for the band's upcoming full 2012 tour.
Founding member Billy Corgan (vocals, guitar) and bandmates Jeff Schroeder (guitar), Mike Byrne (drums) and Nicole Fiorentino (bass) will be performing hits from the Pumpkins' catalog and road-testing new material from the group's forthcoming set, "Oceania," due out early next year. Fans in NorCal can catch Corgan and co. tomorrow night (10/7) at The Fox Theater in Oakland. Saturday (10/8) the tour arrives in Nevada for a show at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
