Jay-Z to be first musical performer at new Brooklyn arena

Though the future home of the NBA's Brooklyn Nets -- currently the New Jersey Nets -- isn't scheduled to open for another year, the venue has already confirmed its first musical performer: Jay-Z.
The rapper owns a minority stake in the Nets, who plan to move into the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, next year.
"This is where I'm from; I'll always be Brooklyn, and opening this arena will mean more to me than anywhere else," he reportedly said at a news conference.
Though the exact dates of Jay-Z's performances at the venue haven't been announced, the rapper said he may play up to three shows.
