My Morning Jacket buttons up new tour itinerary

Fresh on the heels of their performance at the Austin City Limits Festival this past weekend, My Morning Jacket has announced a run of shows for the fall.

After an Oct. 20 date in Nashville, TN, the five-piece begins a two-week coast to coast jaunt in early December, starting with one night stands in Los Angeles and San Francisco and finishing at Madison Square Garden in New York City, with stops in Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, and North Carolina along the way. Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings will be opening for the roots-rockers in their California appearances, Band of Horses will open at Madison Square Garden, and Delta Spirit will provide support for the rest of the tour.

It has been a busy summer for My Morning Jacket. Since releasing their sixth studio album, "Circuital," on the last day of May, the Kentucky-bred outfit played the main stages at Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza, contributed material to the recently released Buddy Holly and Muppets tribute albums, and released a video for "Holdin' On To Black Metal," the first single off of "Circuital."
