Tool to unleash this fall, Mark Chesnutt readies for new album
Tool will tackle a handful of major-market shows that are bookended by a couple festival appearances.
The hard-rockers will first take the stage Oct. 22 at Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, CA. A trio of headlining shows follow: Oct. 24 in Salt Lake City, UT; Oct. 26 in Denver; and Oct. 28 in Little Rock, AR.
Tool will round out the current itinerary with a headlining set at New Orleans' Voodoo Music Experience over Halloween weekend.
Mark Chestnutt is putting the finishing touches on his 15th studio effort, "Tradition Lives," which is set for a July 8 release.
The collection, produced by Jimmy Ritchie, marks his first new material since 2010's "Outlaw." A bonus track entitled "There Won't Be Another Now" pays tribute to Merle Haggard and songwriter Red Lane.
"A few years back, Jimmy Ritchey and I were at his home studio at about 2 a.m. talking about the Hag and his influence on us, and we thought it would be nice to add this song to the album as a tribute to him and to Red Lane," Chesnutt told Taste of Country. "It's just me with Jimmy on guitar. I hope fans enjoy it."
