Weekend concert cancellations stack up ahead of Hurricane Irene

UPDATED 7:56 PM ET It's pretty safe to say that if you were planning to attend a concert or music festival over the weekend on the East Coast, Hurricane Irene will put a damper on those plans.

A long list of cancellations is stacking up, none bigger than the three-day Dave Matthews Band Caravan, which was scheduled for this week on New York's Governor's Island. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has issued a state of emergency, and Mayor Mike Bloomberg has revoked the event's permit due to safety concerns.

Friday night's (8/26) DMB Caravan show, however, is a go, and those holding tickets the Saturday and Sunday (8/27-28) are invited to attend.

Organizers plan to reschedule the Governor's Island event, and those who attend on Friday will also be allowed to use their tickets on the rescheduled date. Updates and more information will be posted at the DMB Caravan website.
