Billy Joel adds to NYC residency, Celtic Thunder unleashes North American run
Billy Joel has tacked a December date onto his uber-successful residency at New York City's Madison Square Garden.
The Piano Man will take to the stage Dec. 17, marking his 36th residency performance. Last year's July concert put Joel ahead of Elton John for the record of most shows performed by a single artist at the iconic venue.
International stars Celtic Thunder will bring a new show entitled "Legacy" to venues around the world.
The new show will celebrate Irish and Celtic music in 77 cities across North America. The domestic road work begins Aug. 19 in Red Bank, NJ, and continues through a Dec. 4 show in Bemidji, Manitoba.
Celtic Thunder features five male vocalists backed by the eight-piece Celtic Thunder band. The ensemble and solo performances will highlight the diversity of Irish music and song.
