Gov't Mule adds "20 Years Strong" dates ahead of Allman Brothers' final shows
Southern rock outfit Gov't Mule is celebrating the group's 20th anniversary with the "20 Years Strong" tour of the U.S. this fall, wrapping up just a couple weeks before the Allman Brothers' farewell.
Gov't Mule, helmed by Allman Brothers guitarist Warren Haynes, begins the roadwork with a Sept. 12 performance in Cleveland, OH. The fall run visits 15 major markets across the eastern U.S., wrapping up Oct. 4 at the Mighty Mississippi Music Festival in Greenville, MS.
General on-sales begin Friday (8/8).
The Allman Brothers, which includes Haynes, are slated to perform the group's final concerts in a six-night run at New York City's Beacon Theatre in late October (10/21-10/28).
Last September, Gov't Mule unleashed its 10th studio album, "Shout!" The two-CD set, which debuted at No. 32 on The Billboard 200, included an album of songs sung by Haynes and another featuring the same songs sung by a variety of guest vocals. Ben Harper, Dr. John, Grace Potter and Elvis Costello are among the special guests.
