The path to the tour start hasn't been a smooth one. Brooks had planned to spend this very day in Dublin, Ireland playing to 80,000 fans and unveiling the state-of-the-art audio and video systems his production crews have created for the tour.

As in Chicago, that stand was announced modestly, as a set of two shows. But demand prompted the local concert promoter to plot and ticket another three shows, all selling out as close to instant as stadium concerts can sell.

But a major problem loomed in that the number of shows exceeded an agreement previously stuck between the venue and local neighborhood groups, who were not consulted prior to the addition of the shows. Those same groups convinced local government officials not to approve permits for the shows, resulting in a standoff with Brooks--they were willing to permit the original two shows, but would require Brooks to cancel the remaining three, which he refused to do.

Brooks ultimately cancelled the whole set of shows and brought his crew--which had already arrived in Ireland and were set to begin building the stage--back home. And in the process, refunds for some 400,000 tickets began.

A look at the Allstate Arena schedule shows gaps in either direction between the last event prior to Brooks' September 4th show and the next event. So, with room to spread out and anticipated massive demand, there's little question as to whether Brooks will add shows, rather the question is how many.

This story will be updated and new updates will be posted as new shows are added and new cities announced.
