Ticket details for Garth Brooks tour launch revealed
Garth Brooks' first U.S. tour since 2001 and hist first show in Chicago in 17 years will kick off just after Labor Day with a September 4th show at Allstate Arena in Rosemont. Tickets will go on sale Friday, July 25th for what is initially being promoted as a single show.
The show will feature Brooks' wife Trisha Yearwood. Ticket prices are reported to be $65.50 for all seats, including fees.
Ticket demand will be strong, and there's no sense yet of how many shows Chicago will ultimately end up with or how the rest of the tour will route.
Tickets for Brooks' now-cancelled "Comeback Special" shows in Dublin, Ireland sold through their initial two-show 160,000 capacity, promoting the local promoter to put another three shows on sale, which also sold out instantly.
But local neighborhood groups, who had not yet approved the shows, balked at the idea of 400,000 ticketholders swarming into the area for the five-night stand. After two weeks of tense negotiations, the shows were called off.
Brooks new tour will coincide with what is expected to be a double-album of new music, targeted for release by Black Friday, according to Brooks' comments in a recent press conference.
