Broken Bells take "After the Disco" on the road
Indie-rock outfit Broken Bells will spend the latter part of the summer on a North American outing in support of their spring release, "After the Disco."
The pair, comprised of The Shins' James Mercer and producer Danger Mouse, will get started with a July 31 performance in Chicago preceding the Aug. 1 festival appearance. Another 20 concerts follow, featuring a mix of theater shows and festival stops through an Oct. 28 gig in San Francisco.
Hamilton Leithauser, Phantogram and Austra will divvy up opening duties for much of the tour, as outlined in the itinerary below.
Broken Bells unleashed its second full-length effort, "After the Disco," in January. The Columbia Records release, which features the 17-piece Angel City String Orchestra and a four-piece choir, landed at No. 5 on The Billboard 200 and at the top of the magazine's Top Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums and Top Tastemaker Albums charts.
