The Allman Brothers Band appears ready to wind down their touring era with a return to the Beacon Theatre in October, billed at the band's 'final concerts.'

According to Billboard, guitarist Butch Trucks said last week, "That's the way for this incarnation of the band to go out, one final, short Beacon run."

Trucks and longtime co-lead guitarist Warren Haynes announced early in the year that they'd be leaving the band at the end of 2014, to focus on their respective bands. The 14-year run of the current lineup has been the longest of the band's history, and the end of touring activity for the band marks its 45th anniversary.

In a noteworthy coincidence, the final show of their current itinerary wuld have the band taking their final bows in the early hours of October 29th, the 43rd anniversary of the death of band co-founder Duane Allman.

Still, at least in January, singer Gregg Allman wan't yet ready to say that things were final. "Who's to say?" he said to Relix, "We may get together every five years and just do one play at a time."
