Beyonce, Jay-Z summer stadium tour confirmed
The award-winning duo will embark on a stadium trek in late June, beginning with a June 25 stop in Miami Gardens, FL. The itinerary currently boasts 16 major market stops, including two Canadian shows—July 9 in Toronto, Ontario, and July 27 in Winnipeg, Manitoba—before concluding Aug. 5 in San Francisco, CA.
Presales for fan club members begin April 29, while general onsales in many markets kick off May 1.
The hip-hop couple, who made a few unannounced appearances at Coachella earlier this month, recently wrapped up their own individual road trips. Beyonce's year-long "The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour" sold more than $212 million from more than 1.8 million tickets to 126 concerts, according to Billboard, while Jay Z's "Legends of Summer" trek with Justin Timberlake raked in an average of $5 million per concert on the 14-date itinerary.
Beyonce made history last December when she unexpectedly dropped her eponymous fifth album. The audio/visual mix, which sold more than 825,000 copies worldwide in three days, became the fastest-selling album in iTunes history.
Jay Z's most recent collection, "Magna Carta Holy Grail," surfaced last July and marked his 12th studio release. The album, which features guest appearances by Frank Ocean, Nas, Justin Timberlake and Rick Ross, topped The Billboard 200, as well as the magazine's Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums and Top Tastemaker Albums charts.
