Lincoln Park, 30 Seconds to Mars to take on North America with AFI
The trio of rock bands will kick off the 25-city trek with an Aug. 8 show in West Palm Beach, FL, and work their way west over the course of five weeks. The entire outing, which includes three Canadian gigs, finishes up Sept. 19 in Concord, CA.
"Carnivores is a metaphor that is meant to convey an appetite for something visceral and substantive, and I feel that's exactly the hunger this tour will feed," Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda said at a press conference Tuesday (3/4).
Linkin Park, who will headline England's Download Festival this June, are working on a new studio album, according to a early February blog post at Shinoda's website. The post hints at a summertime release, though no official drop date or title has been confirmed.
30 Seconds to Mars will be supporting their most recent release, last May's "Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams." That collection, the band's fourth, peaked at No. 6 on The Billboard 200. In related news, the band's frontman and founder Jared Leto won a best supporting actor Oscar last weekend (3/2) for his role in "Dallas Buyers Club."
