George Strait's "The Cowboy Rides Away Tour" in final four-month stretch
Country big-wig George Strait is in the midst of "The Cowboy Rides Away Tour," the icon's final career run which wraps in early June.
Strait, who has been on the road for several months now, will take to the stage again Friday (2/7) in Phoenix, AZ. His final country trek has another 17 stops before completing the memorable outing with a June 7 conclusion in Arlington, TX. That final performance will include an array of special guests, such as Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney, Faith Hill and Eric Church, among others.
Fellow Texas country legends Asleep at the Wheel are handling opening duties for Strait's final run.
Tickets for several markets are still available via Ticketmaster.
Strait most recently unveiled "Here for a Good Time," his 39th studio album, in Sept. 2011. The effort, which was recorded at Shrimpboat Sound Studio in Key West, FL, peaked at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 and at the top of the magazine's Country Albums chart.
The Grammy winner has sold more than 68 million albums since his 1981 studio debut, "Straight Country" and holds the record for most No. 1 hit singles in any genre with 59 singles.
