Allman Brothers plot extended final Beacon run with Haynes, Trucks
The Allman Brothers band has extended their annual run at the Beacon Theatre in New York from a planned 10-show stand to 14 shows after the original ten dates sold out instantly when put on sale two weeks ago.
The new shows--March 25, 26, 28 & 29--will go on sale January 31st via Ticketmaster.
The high ticket demand comes on the heels of the band's two star guitarists, Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks, both announcing that they'll leave the band at the end of the year. Haynes records and tours both as a solo artist and with his band Gov't Mule. Trucks does the same as the Trucks part of the Tedeschi Trucks Band, with his wife Susan Tedeschi, who is a celebrated guitarist and singer in her own right.
2014 will mark the 45-year anniversary of the Allman Brothers Band, and the 25th year of their annual Beacon residency.
