Garth Brooks will ease back into touring with a pair of stadium shows announced for July in Dublin, Ireland.

The rather literally-named "Garth Brooks Comeback Special Event" is set for July 25th and 26th at the city's Croke Park Stadium, a facility Brooks had vowed to return to play on his 1997 tour.

Said Brooks in a statement, "I was quoted then as saying, 'When this stadium is finished, I would love to come back and try to fill it again... this time to the brink.' ... and we're back to do just that."

Brooks stepped away from a wildly successful touring and recording career in 2001 following the dissolution of his marriage to his first wife, saying at the time that he wanted to spend time with his daughters as they made their way through school. Brooks married singer Trisha Yearwood in 2005.

During his break from major touring, Brooks accepted a deal to play weekend shows at Steve Wynn's namesake Las Vegas hotel an arrangement that involved shuttling Brook via private jet from his Oklahoma home on Fridays and returning him back home after Saturday performances.

A worldwide tour is expected to roll out following the Dublin shows, and Brooks has released an eight-disc compilation, "Blame It All on My Roots," to recap his recorded output prior to the outing.

Tickets for the Dublin shows will go on sale January 30th via Ticketmaster.
