Against Me! set to unleash "Transgender Dysphoria Blues" run
Against Me! will hit the U.S. tour trail later this month ahead of the forthcoming release of their long-awaited effort, "Transgender Dysphoria Blues."
The punk rockers will get the highly-anticipated tour started with a New Year's Eve (12/31) performance in Pittsburgh, PA. Another 21 club and theater stops follow, with the excursion concluding Jan. 26 in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
"Transgender Dysphoria Blues," the band's sixth studio album, will go on sale Jan. 21 via Total Treble Music. The 10-track set was written and produced by frontwoman Laura Jane Grace, formerly known as Tom Gabel and deals with Grace's experiences with gender dysphoria.
In early 2012, Gabel revealed he was transgendered and would then be known as Laura Jane Grace. He also acknowledged plans to undergo the transition process and consider gender reassignment surgery.
The January release will be the outfit's first collection of new material since the announcement, as well as as the first since 2010's "White Crosses."
