Piano man Billy Joel has added a New York City arena show to his winter itinerary, which currently features a half-dozen concerts along the East Coast.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will now perform Jan. 27 at New York City's famed Madison Square Garden, the same venue where he broke the record for "longest run of a single artist" in 2006 with 12 consecutive sold-out performances.

That arena show has been added to a schedule that also features a New Year's Eve concert at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, as well as four shows in Florida throughout January.

Joel, who is slated to receive Kennedy Center Honors next month, most recently unveiled "Fantasies & Delusions," in 2008. That album, his first collection of classical compositions, landed at No. 83 on The Billboard 200 and followed his chart-topping 12th album, 1993's "River of Dreams."

Joel is one of the highest grossing touring artists of the world and has sold more than 150 million albums worldwide. The musician has received six Grammys, as well as the Grammy Legend Award, along with inductions into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
