Patty Griffin maps early 2014 "American Kid" college tour
Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Patty Griffin will take her push behind "American Kid" to college markets in the New Year.
The Maine native and Texas transplant will take to the road in late January, beginning Jan. 23 in Denton, TX. The 14-city tour, which includes a Feb. 1 appearance at Michigan's Ann Arbor Folk Festival, currently wraps up Feb. 8 in Fort Worth, TX.
Anais Mitchell will open the college tour, tickets for which will be $20 or less, according to a press release.
In early October, Griffin released the long-awaited "Silver Bell," a 14-track effort recorded in 2000 at Daniel Lanois' New Orleans studio. The album marks her second release of the year, with the first being "American Kid," which surfaced in May via New West Records. That collection, which was recorded in Memphis, TN, serves as a tribute to her late father.
