Slayer to perform "old-school set" on fall run across North America
Slayer will focus on classic songs and fan favorites from before 1990 on their impending North American trek.
The thrash-metal outfit take to the road again beginning Oct. 30 in San Jose, CA, and traipse across the continent through the end of November. The 22-city outing will feature an "old school Slayer night" set, according to a press release.
Fans can expect to hear tracks from at least five albums, beginning with the group's 1983 debut "Show No Mercy" through 1990's gold-certified "Seasons in the Abyss."
"The final set list is still coming together," singer/bassist Tom Araya said in a press release, "but we're going to give the fans what amounts to 'decades of aggression.' It's going to be a great night of music and moshing for everyone."
Slayer's most recent studio album, "World Painted Blood," surfaced in 2009 and peaked at No. 12 on The Billboard 200. In 2010, the band released "The Vinyl Conflict," a box set featuring 10 studio albums, as well as their 1991 live album "Decade of Aggression."
