Video: Bridge School Benefit Webcast to deliver fun., CSNY, Arcade Fire, more
The webcast of the 27th annual Bridge School Benefit concert will broadcast via YouTube this evening (10/26), starting at 5pm PT, featuring the usual stellar mix of contemporary and classic rockers that organizer Neil Young has long cultivated for the event.
The Sunday side of the lineup, happening away from the live Saturday webcas, will feature Tom Waits, but Bridge School officials have announced that a replay of the webcast with footage of Waits' performance will be available in the coming week.
The Saturday lineup that will go in front of the webcast cameras will include Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Queens of the Stone Age, My Morning Jacket, Arcade Fire, Jack Johnson, Elvis Costello, Diana Krall, fun., Heart and Jenny Lewis.
The three days of concerts benefit the Bridge School in Hillsborough, CA, which serves severely speech-impaired children in the Bay Area. Young's wife, Pegi, and Jim Forderer -- both parents of children with severe speech and physical impairments -- co-founded the school in 1986 along with Dr. Marilyn Buzolich.
The first benefit concert took place that same year and, with the exception of 1987, has been held every year since.
