Kings of Leon map out first leg of "Mechanical Bull" trek
Kings of Leon have unveiled the first leg of their North American tour behind the just-released album, "Mechanical Bull."
The Grammy-winning rockers will jumpstart the arena outing with a Feb. 5 performance in Atlanta and venture through 15 major markets, wrapping up March 8 in Chicago. More dates will be announced soon, according to a press release.
Blues-rock musician Gary Clark, Jr. will provide opening support on the first leg, tickets for which go on sale Nov. 1.
Kings of Leon unleashed "Mechanical Bull," the group's sixth full-length effort, Sept. 23 via RCA Records. The 11-track album, which follows 2010's "Come Around Sundown," peaked at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 and at the top of album charts in Ireland, New Zealand and Australia. It also debuted at the top of the U.K. Albums chart, making it the band's fourth consecutive record to do so.
The album's lead single, "Supersoaker," surfaced this summer and climbed to No. 8 on Billboard's Rock Songs chart.
