Band of Horses frontman Ben Bridwell heads out solo as Birdsmell
Band of Horses frontman Ben Bridwell will spend some time touring solo next month using the stage name Birdsmell.
The South Carolina singer, songwriter and guitarist will begin his solo run with a Nov. 2 performance in Carrboro, NC, and visit seven other Southern cities, concluding Nov. 15 in Athens, GA.
A limited edition 7-inch of solo tracks will be available for purchase at the club shows. Two songs, "Throw My Mess Around" and "Tulsa," are also currently streaming at the NME website.
"Touring as Birdsmell is something I've been wanting to do for awhile now, and I'm looking forward to playing some new songs you haven't heard, and reworking some ones you have," Bridwell said at Band of Horses' website. "I haven't quite figured out exactly what I'll be playing, or how I'll be playing it, but I'm guessing it'll be hilarious. And sad. And awkward at times."
No word yet on when a full-length solo album will surface.
