Deltron 3030 promote long-awaited sophomore set with fall tour
Alternative hip-hop supergroup Deltron 3030 will drum up support for a brand-new album with a fall run, which will feature a 16-piece orchestra in most markets.
The outfit, comprised of producer Dan the Automator, rapper Del the Funky Homosapien and DJ/musician Kid Koala, will first complete two California Rock the Bells performance in September before the tour's official Oct. 8 kick-off in Boston. The 14-city trek features one Canadian performance Oct. 16 in Toronto among the club and theater gigs in the U.S. The road trip winds up Nov. 15 with an appearance at Denver's Boom Fest.
Nine of the 16 dates on the itinerary will include the 16-piece orchestra, appropriately dubbed the 3030 Orchestra.
On Oct. 1, Deltron 3030 will release its second studio album, entitled "Deltron 3030: Event II." The Bulk Recordings release is the long-awaited follow-up to the eponymous effort that surfaced in 2000. The new collection will feature special guests Damon Albarn, David Cross, Jamie Cullum, Zach De La Rocha, The Lonely Island, AwolNation and others, according to a press release.
Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt has narrated a trailer to the album, which is currently streaming at the trio's YouTube page.
