Ben Harper plots fall acoustic outing along West Coast
Blues-rock singer/songwriter Ben Harper has tacked an acoustic fall outing onto his impending summer plans behind his January release, "Get Up!"
The Grammy winner will first finish up a late-summer run that begins with a Sept. 11 performance in Austin, TX, and continues with three more Southern stops that week. A Sept. 20 appearance at a Brazil music festival closes out that portion of the itinerary.
The newly-announced fall portion kicks off Nov. 6 in Harper's hometown of Claremont, CA, and is followed by another six theater shows through mid-November.
During the West Coast run, Harper will perform songs spanning his entire 20-year discography, according to a press release.
Harper teamed up with harmonica virtuoso Charlie Musselwhite for his most recent release, "Get Up!" That collection surfaced in January via Stax Records and debuted at the top of Billboard's Blues Albums chart. The album, which mixes blues, gospel, roots and R&B, comes two years after Harper's 10th studio effort, "Give Till It's Gone."
