Pixies add L.A., NYC dates to fall schedule
The Pixies will now perform a multiple nights on both the East and West Coasts as part of their recently released worldwide trek.
Since last check, four Los Angeles dates (9/9-9/12) and four New York City gigs (9/17-20) have been added to the front of the itinerary, as well as a Sept. 15 appearance at Chicago's Riot Fest. The band then heads across the pond for more than a month of European performances.
The Pixies, comprised of singer/guitarist Black Francis, guitarist Joey Santiago and drummer David Lovering, will welcome bassist Kim Shattuck on the road. Shattuck takes the place of founding member Kim Deal, who left the group earlier this year.
"Bagboy," the band's first new song in nine years, dropped earlier this month and is now available on iTunes. Other new work will be premiered on the tour, according to a press release.
"We couldn't be happier with the sold out European shows and the way 'Bagboy' has been received by fans and by the media," Lovering said in a press release. "We've been wanting to release new music for a long time now, and to not only be able to finally do it, but to have people really like it, is like grabbing the brass ring. And we're really looking forward to playing again in L.A. and New York."
