Lady Gaga returns to the stage at 2013 MTV VMAs
Lady Gaga is the first confirmed performer for this year's MTV Video Music Awards, where the pop superstar will showcase the new single off her impending "Artpop" album release.
The star-studded MTV VMA ceremony will take place Aug. 25 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, and will be broadcast live. Gaga will perform the lead single just six days after its Aug. 19 unveiling. "Artpop" is scheduled to drop Nov. 11 via Interscope Records.
In years past, the 13-time MTV VMA Award winner performed "Paparazzi" and "You And I," and in 2011, Gaga turned heads with infamous her meat dress.
Earlier this month, Gaga announced via Facebook that she's recovered fully from the hip surgery she underwent in February that caused the cancellation of her "Born This Way" tour.
Gaga unleashed "Born This Way," her second studio effort, in May 2011. That collection topped the charts in 25 countries, including the U.S., and received three Grammy nominations, including Gaga's third consecutive Album of the Year nomination.
