Rancid working North America ahead of new album
Punk-rockers Rancid have added another round of U.S. club and theater stops to their summer itinerary in anticipation of a new studio album.
The Berkeley, CA natives return to the road with two Seattle shows (7/11-12), and continue moving along the West Coast through early August. After a month-long break, the band picks back up Sept. 2 in Austin, TX, followed by another 16 performances scattered across the eastern part of the nation.
The summertime outing will also include Tim Timebomb & Friends (a project led by Rancid's Tim Armstrong) and The Interrupters.
Rancid has been working on a new studio set that is expected to hit retailers before year's end, according to published reports. It will be the group's first collection of new material since 2009's "Let the Dominoes Fall."
Last year, Rancid released "Essentials," a vinyl box set containing their entire 20-year discography on 46 re-mastered 45 rpm 7-inch records.
