Refunds available for ticketholders of Tom Petty's' cut-short show
Less than a week after the sudden ending of a Los Angeles performance, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers have announced full refunds for those in attendance at the June 8 show.
The rock outfit was 90 minutes into the Saturday night concert -- the fourth night of a six-night stand -- before fire marshals pulled the plug on the event, which was said to be about 100 people over capacity on the floor. The show was slated to last approximately 30 more minutes, according to a note posted at the band's website.
The band, the promoter (Goldenvoice) and Ticketmaster have all agreed to fully refund tickets and all service fees to those with a proof of purchase for the June 8 concert. The refund window expires Sept. 10.
Fans who purchased tickets the night of the performance from the venue will need to return to the Fonda Theatre with the original ticket stub.
