Atoms For Peace releases worldwide dates behind supergroup debut
Experimental rockers Atoms For Peace will follow up a three-week European run with a handful of early fall stops in the U.S.
The L.A.-based supergroup -- comprised of Radiohead lead singer Thom Yorke, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich on keys, Beck and R.E.M. drummer Joey Waronker and Brazilian percussionist Mauro Refosco -- will spend July touring through Europe.
The North American leg gets underway Sept. 24 in Philadelphia and visits eight other major markets spread across the nation, including appearances at both weekends (10/6 and 10/13) of this year's Austin City Limits Festival and an Oct. 19 performance at San Francisco's Treasure Island Music Festival.
The rock outfit's debut album, "Amok," became available in streaming format Feb. 18 and hit retailers Feb. 25. The nine-track collection peaked at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 and at No. 5 on the U.K. Albums chart.
The supergroup formed in late 2009, performing Yorke's solo debut, "The Eraser," in its entirety at Los Angeles' Echoplex.
