Nine Inch Nails sign to Columbia Records, new album due
Nine Inch Nails have signed with Columbia Records and will unveil a new studio effort later this year.
The Trent Reznor-helmed industrial rock outfit is slated to hit a handful of international festivals, beginning July 26 at Fuji Rock Festival in Niigata, Japan. The roadwork, which marks the band's first live performances in nearly four years, will feature a new NIN lineup comprised of Reznor, Alessandro Cortini, Josh Eustis, Robin Finck and Ilan Rubin.
"I've been less than honest about what I've really been up to lately," Reznor said in a press release. "For the last year I've been secretly working non-stop with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder on a new, full-length Nine Inch Nails record, which I am happy to say is finished and frankly fucking great. This is the real impetus and motivation behind the decision to assemble a new band and tour again."
No official date or title for the impending 2013 release has been revealed.
Nine Inch Nails most recently unveiled "The Slip" in 2008. The free digital collection peaked at No. 13 on The Billboard 200.
