Vampire Weekend promote "Modern Vampires of the City" with North American dates
New York City indie-rockers Vampire Weekend will follow up their brand-new release, "Modern Vampires of the City," with a headlining trek across North America.
The four-piece outfit, helmed by frontman/guitarist Ezra Koenig, will start the journey Thursday (5/16) in Toronto before moving down into the U.S. The spring and summer itinerary includes eight amphitheater and festival gigs through mid-June, after which the band will head across the pond for a five-date European run.
Five more North American cities follow, beginning with a two-night stand Aug. 2-3 in Montreal and concluding Oct. 8 in Kansas City, MO.
"Modern Vampires of the City," Vampire Weekend's third full-length release, surfaced Tuesday (5/14) via XL Recordings. The effort, produced by Rostram Batmanglij and Ariel Rechtshaid Usher, Plain White T's), follows their chart-topping 2010 collection, "Contra."
