Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers are preparing for the Thursday kick-off (5/16) of their national tour that includes festival performances and theater shows.

The iconic rockers will begin the roadwork Thursday (5/16) in Evansville, IN, followed by appearances at Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, AL (5/18); Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, TN (6/16); and Firefly Music Festival in Dover, DE (6/22).

Five nights of performances at New York City's Beacon Theater are on the books in May, as well as six concerts at L.A.'s Fonda Theatre from June 3 through June 11.

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers are recording the follow-up to 2010's "Mojo," which has yet to be unnamed and will surface in 2014 via Reprise Records, according to a press release.
