Deerhunter heads out behind "Monomania"
Indie-rockers Deerhunter will spend the latter part of the summer hitting festivals and clubs across the nation behind their brand-new studio set "Monomania."
The five-piece Atlanta-based band begin the month-long trek with an Aug. 23 show in Phoenix before moving along the West Coast and eastward across the nation. The current schedule boasts 18 stops, including festival appearances at Seattle's Bumbershoot Festival (8/31-9/2) and Portland, OR's Music Fest Northwest (9/3-8).
More dates will be added to the itinerary soon, according to a press release.
Deerhunter unveiled "Monomania," the group's sixth studio set, today (5/8) via 4AD Records. Recorded at Brooklyn's Rare Book Room Studio with producer Nicolas Vernhes, the effort is the first to feature new bassist Josh McKay, who replaced Joshua Fauver, and guitarist Frankie Broyles. The album follows the band's 2010 release, "Halcyon Digest."
