The Cure, Depeche Mode, Muse top Austin City Limits Festival lineup

The Austin City Limits Festival has revealed its full 2013 lineup, picking up some of the momentum of this year's SXSW music festival with Depeche Mode and fellow 80's stalwarts The Cure at the top of the bill.

The Austin City Limits Festival has revealed its full 2013 lineup, picking up some of the momentum of this year's SXSW music festival with Depeche Mode and fellow 80's stalwarts The Cure at the top of the bill.

As always, the mix of acts is broad and deep, plucking alt-country upstarts The Lone Bellow and Shovels & Rope alongside the one-man pop hit factory of Lionel Richie and rockers Kings of Leon and Muse.

This is the first year that the festival has pushed into two-weekend territory, mirroring the strategy of Coachella, whereby the full lineup replicates itself for a second festival crowd on two consecutive weekends.

The added weekend brings a couple of welcome side-effects to the event. First, the capacity of the event doubles, making the scramble for tickets less of a panic than in years past. And the second weekend will happen in mid-October, theoretically providing a vastly cooler Zilker Park experience than some of the September events in the young festival's history.

Festival organizers staged a 'blind' early sale for return buyers in late 2012. With the release of the full lineup, the general onsale kicks in at 10am this morning (Tuesday, the 7th) at aclfestival.com.
