Primus to take "Green Naugahyde" on the road

Eccentric experimental rock outfit Primus has added another leg to its summertime excursion behind "Green Naugahyde," the band's first album of new material in more than a decade.
The band will begin the tour with two shows alongside The Flaming Lips: Aug. 3 in Morrison, CO, and Aug. 6 in Tulsa, OK. The rock trio will then kick off its official trek, which spans the U.S. and parts of Canada, Sept. 23 in Boston. Each of the remaining 18 stops will feature two sets each evening, according to the band's website. Fans can access ticket information at the site as well.
In September, Primus will release "Green Naugahyde," the group's first full-length set since 1999's "Antipop," via ATO Records. The 1999 effort landed at No. 44 on The Billboard 200 and featured special guests Tom Waits, James Hetfield (Metallica), Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit) and Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine).
The forthcoming album will feature 13 tracks and will be the first to feature drummer Jay Lane, who first joined the band in 1988 for a brief period.
