In Pictures: The Tragically Hip in Windsor, Ontario

The Tragically Hip are taking their homeland by storm as they tour Canada through the summer.

During their show in Windsor, Ontario last weekend, the region was struck by some freak weather that not only knocked down trees, but also knocked out power to nearly 20,000 residents, according to windsorstar.com. The blackout happened just before the band was about to take the stage at the Colosseum at Caesars Windsor. After about a 40 minute wait, The Hip began their set with frontman Gord Downie jokingly thanking the audience for not stealing anything when the lights went out. The band is offering fans stateside one chance to catch them live this time out, namely at Erie Canal Harbor in Buffalo, NY, on July 30.

SoundSpike photographer Gene Schilling was among the guests who attended the aforementioned concert in Windsor on Saturday (7/2), and here are some of his best shots.
