Ben Harper unveils summer run behind new studio effort
Ben Harper will divide his summer between North American dates and an international leg as he tours to promote his brand new album, "Give Till It's Gone."
The established singer/songwriter will kick off the North American portion of the journey with a June 4 stop in Ozark, AR. The 19-city leg will concentrate on the Midwest through mid-July, after which Harper will head overseas for a slew of European festival appearances.
The musician returns to the States -- and subsequently the road -- at the end of August, beginning with an Aug. 25 club show in San Francisco. The full itinerary, including overseas gigs, is shown at right and more dates will be added in the coming weeks, according to a press release.
Harper's 10th studio effort, "Give Till It's Gone," hit shelves Tuesday (5/17). The album marks the performer's first solo release since 2006's "Both Sides of the Gun," which peaked at No. 7 on The Billboard 200, making it his first Top 10 hit in the US.
The Grammy winner is slated to perform the new album's lead single, "Rock 'N' Roll Is Free," on the television circuit this week, including "The Late Show with David Letterman" tonight (5/18), "The Early Show" Thursday (5/19), "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (5/24) and "Conan" (5/25).
