Elvis Costello leaves his setlists to chance on May tour
Elvis Costello and his band the Imposters have announced plans to hit up the U.S. this May for a tour, during which his setlists will be determined by the spin of a game show-style wheel.
On the outing, dubbed "The Revolver Tour," Costello will haul out "The Spectacular Spinning Songbook," a huge game-show wheel marked with the titles of 40 songs, including a mix of rarities, hits and covers. Audience members will be selected to join Costello on the stage and spin the wheel, and will have a chance enter the "Hostage to Fortune Go-Go Cage" to hear the band perform the song.
"Alternatively, they may choose to take a seat in the on-stage 'Society Lounge,' where light refreshments will be served, during what promises to be a splendid and surprising evening," reads a statement announcing the tour.
It's not the fist time Costello has undertaken such a tour -- he did the same thing during a 1986 tour.
The U.S. tour currently is scheduled to get underway May 7 in Reno, NV, and currently is set to run through a two-night stand May 22-23 in New York City.
