Snoop Dogg banned from Dutch festival

"There's been much speculation that, given the enormous response by Snoop's fans to the free festival, the local authorities would not be able to provide sufficient security," said the statement. "Mojo, the largest concert promoter in Holland says, 'We have never had any issues with Snoop, who has played magnificent shows at many of the festivals we promote such as Lowlands, North Sea Jazz and at several other promoted shows by Mojo.' Snoop is a mainstay at music festivals all over the world and has performed at all of these without incident."

The rapper has one additional date in The Netherlands on his itinerary -- a June 28 appearance in Amsterdam.

Snoop Dogg did have a scrape with the law on a previous trip to Europe. He was denied a visa for entry to the U.K. in 2007 because of a 2006 imbroglio at Heathrow Airport that involved some members of his entourage. In March of this year, a British tribunal reversed that decision, and Snoop is scheduled to play at the U.K.'s Glastonbury and Wireless festivals this summer.
