Dispatch lashes out at ticket brokers

New England jam band Dispatch wants fans to know that tickets for their long-awaited summer tour are not yet on sale, despite what some ticket outlets are saying.
Several online ticket brokers have begun offering tickets for the six-date summer run, which was announced earlier this week and kicks of June 4 at Morrison, CO's Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Authentic tickets for the outing, however, will not be available until exclusive fan presales begin Jan. 21.
"Dispatch is sad and disappointed to see so many third-party sites selling false inventory to shows on the DISPATCH 2011 tour, lying to the band's fans about ticket inventory that they absolutely do not have," the group said in a Jan. 6 press release.
Tickets, which will go for $40 and will only be available via Ticketmaster, go on sale to the general public Jan. 28.
Concertgoers can bring school supplies to any Dispatch show to support the band's "Stuff the Bus" initiative. In addition, the musicians will be donating a portion of ticket proceeds to education programs in local communities.
The band, which has been inactive since playing three shows in 2007 at New York's Madison Square Garden, recently started working on its first studio album since 2000's "Who Are We Living For?"
