Alanis Morissette gives birth to her first child

Pop singer Alanis Morissette and her husband, rapper Mario "Souleye" Treadway, welcomed a baby boy on Christmas Day.

The Canadian singer and the baby, named Ever Imre Morissette-Treadway, are healthy and happy, Morissette's publicist told reporters.

"Moved beyond words and so grateful," Morissette wrote, in one Tweet following her first child's birth. Another read, "So in love with my new nuclear family xoox."

Morissette, 36, and Treadway married earlier this year.
