In Pictures: Keith Urban in Foxboro, MA
Grammy-winner Keith Urban is turning up all over the place -- on the road with the Eagles and Dixie Chicks, performing last week as part of Marty Stuart's Annual Late Night Jam in Nashville, and, next month, headlining the Starry Night concert in Los Angeles, The Grammy Foundation's signature benefit at UCLA.
Urban's latest release, the 2009 set "Defying Gravity," is the sixth of his 20-year career, which speaks to a quality over quantity approach. In a statement on his website, Urban describes the origin behind the music: "It wasn't a conscious theme, but listening back, I think the album is about being brave enough to love, which is difficult for a lot of people to do. Most people who have loved have been hurt, and to love for a second or a third time is very, very hard."
SoundSpike contributing photographer Mary Ouellette caught up with Urban last weekend (6/12) at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA, and here are some highlights.
