Grateful Dead spin-off group Furthur, headed up by Dead alumni Bob Weir and Phil Lesh, will keep busy next spring by playing a series of dates in the eastern U.S.

The newly unveiled itinerary includes a pair of multi-night stands in New York City (at the Best Buy Theater and Radio City Music Hall), and five shows at the Philadelphia area's Tower Theater. Two nights are planned in Boston.

The group -- currently rounded out by keyboardist Jeff Chementi (RatDog), guitarist John Kadlecic (Dark Star Orchestra), drummer Joe Russo (Benevento-Russo Duo), and backup singers Sunshine Becker (SoVoSo) and Jeff Pehrson (Box Set) -- will say goodbye to 2010 with shows at San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on Dec. 30 and 31. Rounding out Furthur's itinerary is a three-night stand at Broomfield, CO's 1stBank Center Feb. 11-13.
