Billy Joel undergoes double hip replacement

Billy Joel reportedly is recovering after undergoing double hip-replacement surgery last week.

The singer's spokesperson told People magazine that Joel, 61, was "doing extremely well" after the surgery.

In recent weeks, Joel has been promoting the film "The Last Play at Shea," which documents his 2008 concerts at New York's Shea Stadium. The stadium was demolished in 2009.
