Alabama preps for "Back to The Bowery" trek
Country outfit Alabama will celebrate their 40th anniversary with a scattered excursion that kicks off at the same club where the band performed its first concert.
The award-winning trio begin the "Back to The Bowery Tour" with a two-night stand April 5-6 at The Bowery in Myrtle Beach, SC -- the site of the band's first-ever residency. The current itinerary covers 10 North American cities through mid-October, including an April 27 stop in Rama, Ontario.
Tickets for most markets go on sale Friday (2/15) via the band's website. More dates will be announced in the coming weeks, according to a press release.
"I'm so excited to celebrate 40 years since our first show at The Bowery," frontman Randy Owen said in a press release. "We still love one another, have played music together all these years, and are blessed to still be around. Most importantly, we are ever grateful for the fans, many having been with us since we used to play for tips, so to be able to go back out and play for them will make this a very special year."
"The Back to The Bowery Tour" marks Alabama's first official tour since 2002. The country group plans on releasing a new studio album later this year, according to a press release, and take on a four-night musical cruise, "The Alabama and Friends Festival at Sea," to the Bahamas. More information about the outing is available at the cruise's website.
