Dispatch readies for "Circles Around the Summer" trek
New England jam band Dispatch will send the summer touring the U.S. in continued support of last year's "Circles Around the Sun."
The trio, comprised of multi-instrumentalists Chad Stokes, Brad Corrigan and Pete Francis, will kick off the short "Circles Around the Summer Tour" with a May 30 performance at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. Another six shows are on the itinerary, including to-be-determined festival dates at Wakarusa in Ozark, AR, and Mountain Jam in Hunter Mountain, NY.
Tickets for the club shows go on sale Feb. 1 at the band's website.
Dispatch released "Circles Around the Sun," the Vermont-based band's fifth album and first release in 12 years, Aug. 21 via their own Bomber Records. Produced by Peter Katis (The National, Interpol), the effort peaked at No. 7 on Billboard's Rock Albums chart and at No. 10 on the magazine's Digital Albums chart.
In early December, Dispatch released a seven-song EP via iTunes. The iTunes Session collection includes six previously unreleased tracks, as well as a cover of Paul Simon's "Mother & Child Reunion."
