Sting rekindles "Back to Bass" outing
Sting will return to his successful, stripped down "Back to Bass" tour this year, plotting performances across North America and parts of Europe.
The iconic rocker will begin the latest trek with a May 30 show in Kelowna, British Columbia, and push through major markets across the continent through late June. So far, 15 domestic stops have been confirmed before the English artist heads across the pond for a short European run that kicks off June 29 in Oswiecim, Poland. More U.S. dates will be announced soon, according to a press release.
Tickets for North American shows go on sale Jan. 28 via Live Nation, while European performances go on sale Jan. 24-25.
Sting will continue with his backing band, comprised of his longtime guitarist Dominic Miller, drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, keyboardist David Sancious, electric fiddle player Peter Tickell and vocalist Jo Lawry. Each evening's set will feature stripped down versions of songs spanning his 25-year solo career, beginning with his 1985 debut, "The Dream of the Blue Turtles."
The 10-time Grammy winner and former frontman/bassist of The Police most recently released "25 Years," a boxed set collection that includes the double disc "The Best of 25 Years."
