Mickey Hart Band tours North America
Former Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart will head out with his band for a three-week winter trek across the western half of North America.
The Mickey Hart Band takes to the road Feb. 15 in Crystal Bay, NV, and works its way across the western U.S. and parts of Canada through early March. The current itinerary wraps up March 6 in Solana Beach, CA.
Tickets for the outing are available now at the group's website, and 100 percent of the ticketing fees go to fund musicial therapy research at University of California San Francisco.
The Mickey Hart Band will welcome support from The African Showboyz. The Ghana outfit will not only open the show, but also join the band for a total of seven percussionists and seven vocalists.
Fans can download the Dec. 1 performance of the two bands in San Francisco at Hart's website.
"Mysterium Tremendum," Hart's latest release, surfaced in April.
