Camper Van Beethoven, Cracker team up for winter dates
The two bands -- which share some members, including frontman David Lowery -- will kick off the trek Dec. 27 in Solana Beach, CA, and move through six major markets scattered across the East and West Coasts. A handful of solo shows for each band are also on the books, though more co-headlining dates will be added soon, according to a press release.
CVB is set to unveil "La Costa Perdida," the band's eighth studio album, Jan. 22 via 429 Records. The impending release marks the group's first new material since 2004's "New Roman Times."
"The coolest part was that everything flowed from the fact that these distinctive musicians and personalities sat in the living room," bassist/guitarist Victor Krummenacher said of the new album in a press release. "Four people are writing it. The songs have great energy, but we're more relaxed and stately and a lot more confident."
Alt-rockers Cracker most recently dropped "Sunrise in the Land of Milk and Honey," the band's ninth studio effort, in 2009. That collection peaked at No. 28 on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart.
